About Pear Tree Software
Hello!
My name is Jack Partridge. Pear
Tree Software is my software development company. I create mostly custom
software solutions for small businesses.
Software is
my third career - after being a city planner in Cambridge and Boston, and
starting and operating Nashoba Valley Winery in Bolton, Massachusetts. I developed the production,
accounting, and marketing software for running the winery and orchard
business. In the process I grew increasingly interested in software development. I like
to think that that experience gives me a unique perspective - as both the
developer and user of small business software.
Other software experience has
included a variety of small business applications: ferry reservation and
freight systems; hotel reservations; fabric wholesaler and integrator;
nursing home clinical and care planning system. See
Other Software.
My most recent project grew out
of an ongoing interest in self exploration and transformation. Through an
experience in the Landmark Forum
I heard of Internal Family Systems Therapy. When I read about IFS it really
struck a chord in me. I've been doing IFS work for two years now and I
believe it is an incredible tool - because it deals with how our mind really
works. (See the IFS Info page) I am excited to be
developing a program called IFS Insight which I
hope will make a real contribution to the IFS field.
After a great 10 years in
Tucson, we now live in the small town of Bahama, North Carolina, north of
Durham. My wife, Miki (for Mickey Mantel), a baseball nut, is CFO of USA
Baseball, which runs the U. S. Olympic baseball team. My stepdaughter,
Kelena, her husband, Martin, and son Joshua are in Albuquerque. My daughter,
Jessie, is a recent graduate of Tufts. Among other things I enjoy golf,
landscaping, and designing the straw bale house we plan to build near
Albuquerque.
