IFS Insight Guided Tour - Therapy Progress
Start
The Therapy Progress window displays two forms of progress measure. These
are not a definitive statement of how much progress has been made. But
they are useful, both as a source of encouragement, and for leads as to
where more work is needed.
Burdens Found And Unburdened
The upper chart focuses on a key indicator of healing in IFS work, burdens
found and burdens unburdened. Your interpretation of these two curves will
be somewhat subjective. Seeing these key points in the burden work displayed
over time can show how much work has been accomplished, and how the pace of
the work has varied over time.
To the right of the chart is a drop list called Display Burdens Of. With it
you may display the burdens of all parts (the default), exiles, protectors,
managers, or fire fighters, or individual parts. Looking at the curves for
different subsets of parts can provide further insights into the course of
the therapy.
IFS Scale: Parts Profile Trends
The lower graph displays the results of any completed IFS Scale
questionnaires, shown on the same time scale as the Burdens Graph. The
results are displayed as colored dots with a code letter (S Self; P
Pleasing/abandoned; I Addictive/Impulsive, etc.)
When more than one set of scale results are available the dots of each part
type are connected by a line in the same color, so that trends are easily
visible. It is useful to review the trends of the various part
types. Beyond that, this display can be very heartening. To see most extreme
parts trending down and Self trending up is nothing short of exciting!
